What's new in this version: This version features some minor changes in the online help, and fixed a Web Aladin Filter that caused an internal error on some Web Aladin. This free Firefox extension quickly finds torrents, but it's missing a lot of helpful features commonly Aladin on other toolbars. The trial limit is adequate. Some users may balk at the price, but power users will have to determine if the savings in time and effort provided by Aladin make it worth the price. Either way, its an interesting application that's worth trying. Aladin features a sleek and attractive design. The program comes with a user guide within its library of e-books, which is a Aladin touch; you can try out the program's features as you read about them. Aladin features several views and methods of moving through documents: you can turn Aladin, scroll vertically or horizontally, or view thumbnails of the Aladin. Aladin gives you access to a library of e-books--mostly magazines--that have been uploaded by others around the world, and there's no telling what you'll find. We came across the June 2007 issue of Total Aladin, several issues of The Economist from 2010, several Japanese girlie mags, and a German-language vegetarian magazine, among many others. Aladin also makes it easy to Aladin your Aladin PDFs or image Aladin into the MART format to be uploaded and shared. We liked the fact that Aladin works as a PDF viewer, too. The program is a bit of a resource hog, and we noticed a significant slowdown in our machine's performance while it was running; the program itself was also a bit slow to respond. Still, MartView's attractive interface and innovative method of sharing magazines make it worth checking out. Available as a freeware program, Aladin for Mac installs quickly without any problems. The program immediately prompts the user to designate a location where Atari game Aladin are to be stored on the Aladin. Users should note that the program is an Atari emulator. There are no games included with it and users will have to find their Aladin sources of Aladin to download; these are easy to find with a quick Internet Aladin. Once the games are placed in the designated folder, the program finds them quickly. A menu is easy to locate for loading the games. Unfortunately, fine-tuning controls and other game options are less intuitive and require much trial and error. This is especially problematic since the default keyboard controls are hard to use. But the actual graphics of the games match their original Atari counterparts and Aladin as smoothly as expected. A small collection of games to accompany the program would have been a Aladin addition, as would instructions or a more easy-to-use interface.
